ABOUT OUR NAME
Many things in life happen over a good meal and drinks. After we committed to focusing our efforts on CRM for government contractors, we headed out to celebrate. Jokingly we toasted “To Walker Daniels”. It had a nice ring to it. Later we checked out the web address, and low and behold, it was available. So we bought the domain, and promptly forgot about it.
ONE OF US HAD JACK DANIELS, ANOTHER JOHNNY WALKER. JOKINGLY WE TOASTED “TO WALKER DANIELS”.
We came up with 15 potential snappy new names that were created by using the ‘Campbell’s Soup’ approach of awkwardly constructed and purposefully mis-spelled names. We gave the list to one of our respected customer’s senior marketing executive, and asked for his input. He said he get back to us.
A month later John invited us to a project kick-off meeting. He introduced everyone and when he got to us, “This is Josh, from ..ugh …ugh …WalkerDaniels, right?”
The name was memorable alright. We told him we better go get some cards…
